The Firm

Over the years we have represented railroaders in virtually every craft, including but not limited to the Operating Department, signalmen, all shopcrafts, Maintenance of Way, etc. Although we are liscenced in and primarily practice in all regions of California, both north and south, over the years we have also represented railroad workers and their families in many other states, such as Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Idaho and Wyoming.

The Kaplan Law Corporation Philosophy
From Jay A. Kaplan,
Founding Member of the Kaplan Law Corporation

It is of paramount importance to us at (KLC) that our firm be able to provide an overall service to our clients, not just a partial one. It is for that reason that even though we specialize in the handling of FELA cases and obtaining the maximum monetary result on each and every FELA case, we are also able to provide effective legal representation in many other areas so as to meet the needs of not only our specific railroad clients, but those of their family, relatives and friends. Additionally, during the pendency of the client's case, we have people in our office who have the specific job of providing additional services at no extra charge, such as assisting in driving people to their medical appointments when needed, helping them to fill out their benefit cards, confirming that their leave of absenses are current. Following the resolution of the case, if we are asked and if it is necessitated because of the extent of injury, we assist clients in filing for their railroad disability pensions or appealing them if necessary, usually at little additional cost. Further, we are able to recommend to our clients many highly regarded Board Certified medical doctors who we have come to know over the years in many different specialties, so our clients are not forced to endure the substandard treatment of railroad company doctors.

Kaplan Law Corporation truly enjoys advocating and protecting he rights of injured and abused railroad workers and their families. On short notice, we stand ready to attend union meetings, small or large, to inform railroad workers of their rights and to answer any questions that they might have at no cost. Over the years, we have handled the largest of cases and the smallest of cases such as those involving minimal hearing loss cases even when it was not financially prudent to do so, but we felt an obligation to provide all railroaders with needed legal representation. The foregoing holds true in California as well as anywhere else we may be of assistance, such as in other states such as Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Oregon etc. Additionally, we encourage all railroaders to call us collect or on our national toll free line (800-552-7526) and ask questions or seek information at no obligation or cost.

Fraternally Yours,
Jay A. Kaplan
